Fitness for the lazy

Move Jar

Every squat earns a marble.

Every fitness app decides what your effort is worth. In Move Jar, you do. Try a move, say how it felt, and that's its price. Everyday moves (housework too) drop marbles into a weekly jar, and a full jar pays out the reward you wrote on its label.

How it works

No programs, sets or rest timers. No calories, no weigh-ins, no "crush it". Squats while the kettle boils count. Vacuuming counts. Dancing in the kitchen counts.

1

Price a few moves

Pick from 120+ everyday moves, or make up your own. Try each one and load the bar to show how heavy it felt: that's its price, per rep, per minute or each time.

2

Drop marbles in

Tap a move when you've done it. Marbles drop into this week's jar, at least one for every log, even a single squat.

3

Claim your reward

Your first days have no target. Then Move Jar suggests a jar size from what you actually did. Fill it, and claim the reward on the label.

What's inside

Prices that change with you

When ten squats stop feeling like a 5, mark them down. A new low pays a bonus, and the old price stays on your shelf, crossed out. Move Jar also offers to shrink your jar to match, so getting better never makes it harder to fill.

Low-battery days

Tired, ill or sore? Switch it on and everything you log that day counts double. Effort is what counts here.

Fresh moves pay double

Once a week, each move pays double, up to 30 extra points. Mixing things up is good for you.

Bed, sofa and kitchen moves

Lying leg raises, sofa leg lifts, kettle squats, stairs, gardening, vacuuming. Whatever you'd do anyway.

A shelf of jars

Past jars, your markdowns and badges, all in one place. A fresh jar every week, so there's no streak to break.

Siri and a gentle nudge

"Hey Siri, log squats in Move Jar." One friendly reminder, only on days you haven't moved yet, if you want it.

Fitness for the lazy, by the lazy

Most fitness apps are built for people who already like exercise. Move Jar is for the rest of us: the ones who'd rather sit down, who've bought the gym membership before, and who'll do ten squats if it means a marble.

You decide what counts and what it's worth. If something is hard for you, it's worth more to you. That's the whole idea.
