Terms of Use
Last updated: 27 October 2026
The short version
Langfolio helps you keep track of the languages you're learning. It's free to use, and Langfolio Pro is a monthly or yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase through the App Store. Subscriptions renew until you cancel them in your Apple Account settings, and refunds go through Apple. What you put in the app is yours.
Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using Langfolio (the "app"), listed on the App Store as Langfolio: Polyglot Tracker and made by No Big Apps ("we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
What the app is
Langfolio is a tracker for people learning several languages at once. You give each language a role and a weekly target, log your practice, keep a notebook of words across your languages, keep a list of things to watch and read, and play language-guessing puzzles. It is a personal study aid: it does not teach you a language, and it does not test or certify your level.
Free and Pro
Langfolio is free to download and use, with some limits, such as how many languages it follows. Langfolio Pro lifts those limits and adds more features, such as iCloud sync, reminders, Siri and Shortcuts, and spreadsheet import and export. The app shows what Pro includes before you buy. Features may change as the app develops.
Subscriptions
Langfolio Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. The price and billing period are shown in the app before you confirm. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. We never see your payment details.
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, for the same length and at the price then in effect, unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. If the price of a subscription changes, Apple tells you beforehand and, where required, asks you to agree to the new price.
You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your iPhone or iPad Settings, under your name → Subscriptions, or in the App Store under your account. If you cancel, Pro stays on until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Free trial
The yearly subscription may come with a free trial (currently one week). Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it turns into a paid yearly subscription and your Apple Account is charged at the end of the trial. Apple decides who is eligible for a trial, usually once per Apple Account. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited if you buy another Pro plan during it.
Lifetime purchase
Lifetime is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks Pro for as long as Langfolio is available, with nothing to renew. Buying it does not cancel a subscription you already have, so if you switch to lifetime, cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings as described above.
You can restore any Pro purchase on another iPhone or iPad signed in to the same Apple Account, from Settings → Restore purchases in the app.
Refunds
All payments go through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies; we can't issue them ourselves. To ask for one, see Apple's refund page.
Your content
Your languages, sessions, notebook and lists are stored on your device and, if you turn on iCloud sync, in your own private iCloud. You keep full ownership of anything you enter, and we do not access, read, or transmit it. Because we can't reach your data, we can't restore it for you either: if it matters to you, keep a backup through your device's backups, iCloud sync or a CSV export.
The app does send anonymous usage events (that something happened, never what you wrote) to Firebase Analytics. Our Privacy Policy lists exactly what is and is not sent.
Suggestions, puzzles and links
Notebook suggestions from Apple Intelligence are generated on your device and can be wrong, so check them before you rely on them. Forecasts, study-hour estimates and levels in the app are rough guides, not promises or assessments. We take care with the sentences and words in the puzzles; if you spot a mistake, please tell us.
Links you add to your watch & read list, and the previews the app fetches for them, come from other websites and apps. We don't control them and are not responsible for their content.
Acceptable use
Use Langfolio only for lawful, personal purposes. Please don't try to get around the purchase system, copy, resell or redistribute the app or its content (such as the puzzles), reverse engineer it except where the law allows, or interfere with how it works.
Intellectual property
All content, design, artwork, puzzles and code in Langfolio are the property of No Big Apps, apart from third-party components used under their own licences. You may use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use on Apple devices you own or control, as Apple's standard EULA (below) describes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the app without permission.
Disclaimer of warranties
Langfolio is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do our best, but we don't promise that the app will be free of errors or interruptions, that every feature will work on every device, or that your data can never be lost.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, No Big Apps is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that the law where you live does not allow to be limited.
Apple's terms
The app is distributed through the App Store, so Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies to your use of the app. Where these terms and Apple's standard EULA differ, the terms more protective of you apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If the law of the country where you live gives you consumer rights that can't be changed by agreement, nothing in these terms takes those rights away.
Changes to these terms
We may modify these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms, which will carry a new date at the top.
